STAR SPANGLED BANNER TOUR

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Engage and interact with Baltimore history! Participants will take chartered transportation to Fort McHenry, best known for its role in the War of 1812 and the location at which Francis Scott Key wrote the “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 1814. Participants will walk through the star-shaped fort, stand upon the ramparts where “the rockets' red glare” were witnessed and see a film depicting the events that inspired Key’s poem. Participants will continue to the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House and Museum. Built in 1793, this was the home and business place of Mary Pickersgill, the maker of the flag hoisted over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Participants will explore the interior of the house and explore the first-floor exhibition gallery, which includes a variety of artifacts from the era.
Cost: $150
